This young girl uses “los,” “las” and the gender-neutral “les” — watch her explain why. —from REMEZCLA on twitter.

to all the cowards who whine “how will i explain it to my kids??” i say: how about you shut up and let your kids explain it to you.

“Ma’am, you don’t have to be a lawyer to defend someone else” wow she snapped

dammnn she really popped off with that last line though

IN THIS HOUSE WE STAN THIS KID

as someone who studies linguistics, i will never not laugh when someone says “that word doesn’t exist” like, my good bitch. if a word is regularly used by a certain amount of people then it exists. if it has its own grammatical rules then its perfectly valid. it’s part of their lexicon now, sweetie. “It’s a made up word” honey, all words are made up. Linguists didn’t just fucking excavate athens and were like BEHOLD!!! VOCABULARY!! “that word isn’t in the dictionary” dictionaries are not rule books, they’re record books. “Refrigerate” didn’t exist 200 years ago and yet here we are. a language that doesn’t adapt to an ever changing society is bound to be lost because, eventually, it won’t be able to keep up with social progress. you motherfuckers.

Winnipeg family desperate for ethnically diverse stem cell donor to save 3-month-old boy

going–nowhere-fast:

allthecanadianpolitics:

A three-month-old boy in Winnipeg is going through his first round of chemotherapy, while his family searches for a stem cell donor that could help save his life.

They need a half-caucasian and half-Filippino donor. I know not everyone will click through the link but they need people who are half-Caucasian and half-Fillippino.

What’s so bad about periods

At first I was like “no don’t reblog it’ll weird people out” then I was like “oh right that’s the point”

You also lose iron during menstruation. I actually passed out because of that yesterday.

Also shout out to all trans, gender-fluid or genderless people with menstruation out there! Periods don’t make you female. Only you define your gender!

Actually there is a good chance that is not the lack of iron making you pass out but instead drops on blood pressure!

I found this out recently. I’ve always been told my fainting/dizzy spells during my period were iron related but I did some research and because I have a history of low blood pressure and fainting related to it (in times of a restricted diet and pregnancy) it’s far more likely that’s the reason I’m fainting

A lot of other AFAB people report the same

I ended up in the hospital due to severe blood loss and needed transfusions to recover

Not to mention the dip in your immune system when you lose that much blood, just because of all the white blood cells pouring out along with the rest of it.

Or the fact that a lot of the painful/severe symptoms associated with periods are actually due to medical problems that need to be addressed, but people don’t know this because no one wants to talk about it and associate most of the symptoms with a fictional version of PMS

Unfortunately I suffer from Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, Polycystic Ovary System and endometriosis which sometimes can disable me to the point I need help doing simple tasks. I was always told I was over reacting and needed to get my act together. Then when I was diagnosed those around me still thought I was overreacting.

On top of all that I have mental illnesses. This has put a strain on my relationships work and personal. I often feel like I’m a burden on my period and because of the PCOS I feel less feminine and feel worse about myself.

I have since learned that there are others that also experience the same thing and are also told that they are overreacting, but please know even if you don’t have any of the same diagnoses as me your reactions are valid. We all experience things differently and seeing any amount of blood can cause worry especially when it becomes heavier than usual. It is also important to get checked out regularly (even if you are not sexually active) and if you feel like something is wrong, no one knows your body better than you, make sure your concerns are heard because your voice and body matters no matter what. I know it can be embarrassing to talk about but it’s something that needs to be talked about because having a period is normal. Don’t be afraid to speak up and advocate for yourself. Please take care of yourself out there. Listen to your body not the opinion of others. 💙💙 You are not alone in this.
